This Policy explains how the Yuvo application (the “App”) handles information about you.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Fabrice LINOT, an individual residing at 5 rue d'Alembert, 75014 Paris, France.
Contact: yuvo@gmail.com
2. Principle: Yuvo is a player
Yuvo is a utility app that plays your playlists. Yuvo does not provide, host or distribute any content, and has no means of accessing the sources you configure. You are responsible for your content.
Yuvo is built on data minimisation: we collect only what is necessary for the service you choose to use.
3. Data processed and purposes
a) Account data (where applicable)
If you create an account or sign in via Apple or Google, we may process your email address, authentication status, security settings, linked subscription identifiers, and your optional marketing consent (yes/no). Marketing consent is separate from accepting the Terms and may be withdrawn at any time.
b) Data stored in your iCloud
Your preferences and progress (playlists, favourites, settings) may be stored in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit. This data is accessible only by you; we have no access to it. Its management is governed by Apple’s iCloud privacy policy.
c) Usage analytics and improvement
We may use a hashed iCloud identifier (not linked to your identity) and general device information (device type, OS version, language) to analyse usage anonymously and improve the App. No identity data (email, name, phone) is linked to this measurement.
d) Crash reports (optional)
Bug reporting is optional. A log file may contain technical information about the streams tested and the associated errors, solely for fixing issues.
e) Advertising (where applicable)
Yuvo may offer ad-supported free access when we enable it. Paying subscribers and users with an ad-free entitlement do not see advertisements. When advertising is enabled:
- we use Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request, store and apply your consent choices where required;
- on Apple platforms, App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission may be requested before any access to the IDFA (advertising identifier). If you do not allow tracking, or if consent is unavailable, ads may be contextual, non-personalised or limited;
- Google and its partners may receive technical data (device, app, network, approximate location, diagnostics, consent status, ad interactions, advertising identifier) only where permitted. If required ad consent is refused or unavailable, ad-supported access is disabled and standard access is restored.
You can review or change your advertising consent in Yuvo’s settings, and the ATT permission in your iOS/tvOS settings.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): providing the App and account features.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalised advertising, tracking, marketing communications. Withdrawable at any time.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): security, fraud prevention, anonymous usage measurement and service improvement.
5. Recipients and processors
We do not sell your data. It may be processed by providers acting on our behalf or by platforms necessary to operate the App, in particular: Apple (distribution, iCloud/CloudKit, purchases) and Google (AdMob, UMP, analytics). These third parties apply their own privacy policies.
6. International transfers
Some providers (notably Apple and Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions), in accordance with the GDPR.
7. Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active, then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, unless a legal retention obligation applies. Crash reports and technical data are kept temporarily, for as long as needed to resolve issues.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures (authentication, access control) to protect data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights: yuvo@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), www.cnil.fr.
10. Children
The App is not intended for individuals below the legal age of consent to data processing in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from minors without the required consent.
11. Cookies (website)
Our website may use a limited number of cookies for measuring and attributing our marketing campaigns (e.g. conversion cookies). You can refuse them via the consent banner.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. Any change is posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
